My wife and I have had a timeshare, Worldmark, for over 30 years and Jim's AirBnB was by far better than any timeshare we have stayed at. It may not sound so important but paper towels and toilet paper were not cheap by any means. For an elderly couple it means a lot. Beautiful landscape and private made our stay great. This stay reminded me of my grandmother's farm in South Dakota years ago where I would spend a week each summer. Brought back pleasant memories. Thanks Jim.

It was a nice little getaway.. I loved that the kitchen was fully stocked with all the kitchen appliances, pots, pans, utensils and more. The jacuzzi was a perfect temperature! The air conditioning definitely helped on the warmer days. We all needed and enjoyed the quiet and peaceful surroundings. Horseback riding was only ten minutes away. Heroes restaurant is literally a walk from the back yard and I recommend the steak sandwich – so delicious. Jim was quick with responses too! Much appreciated

We absolutely loved our stay here. It felt like home, the kitchen bathroom and bedrooms, fully stocked with everything that you will need above and beyond the average Airbnb. when leaving, we said we will miss this place thank you for allowing us to stay and enjoy your home as our home.

Peaceful, expansive and clean. Cool history. Comfy beds, linens and towels. Good taste in books/authors in their little library. Quality kitchen ware. Will return in the fall to experience it in a different season!

Positive: We liked the location and that it was dog friendly. It was nice for my mom who uses a walker since it was all one level. Negative: There was alot of spiders in the house. I understand that in the country you get more bugs but we probably killed about twenty spiders or more in the three days we were there. My son got a couple spider bites as well. We actually ended up leaving a day early because of the spiders.

My wife and I wanted a weekend getaway with our daughter and dog in the Julian area. We selected Jim's place because we were looking for something pet friendly and off the beaten path, but with enough amenities to keep everyone entertained. This ticked all those boxes, plus it seemed to be priced well given other options in the area. It was pretty evident we made the right decision when we pulled up to the house. The house is quaint and off the main road. The craftsman style is traditional in the area and has character and charm. A nice balance between old and new; the kitchen seems to be an addition to the main house and is complete with what appear to be very new appliances and cabinets. Overall, everything is in good repair and we quickly felt at home. The hot tub on the back deck is a great touch; we got in when it was dark and relaxed under a beautiful sky. We were walking distance to most businesses in Wynola, which was also a plus. We hope to be back soon!

the house was quaint, clean, and very well set up. the location was so peaceful and relaxing just what we needed. we saw deer and wild turkeys in the meadow every day. still it was just a short walk to heroes wood fired pizza restaurant where the food was awesome. also the game room was so much fun can't believe how many different games were there. Jim the host was super helpful, responsive, and friendly. this well exceeded our expectations and we would definitely stay here again.

Stayed for a couple days during spring break with my family of 4 (me, wife and 2 young boys 9 and 6). The property was amazing and just what we were looking for. The home itself was very well setup, had everything we needed, and clean. The space was intimate and incredibly cozy. The property beautiful and was large enough for hours of exploring, and we had the privilege of seeing lots of wild life. The hosts were incredibly responsive. Game rooms was great as well and we particularly enjoyed the shuffleboard. Looking forward to our next stay and will definately recommend to anybody.

My husband and I came for Presidents Day Weekend and loved our stay in this home. We had enough room for it to it to feel private, and the blend of a vintage home with modern amenities like new appliances was very nice. Everything was there to get us started in a remote location.

We had a great stay at the Julian Orchard Ranch. Jim and Danny were very attentive, communicated well and always accessible if needed. Really cool property and super pet friendly. Our dogs had so much fun too 🙂 Highly recommend…. Thanks! Mark and Lori

Jim is such a great guy and the Airbnb was great! Such a wonderful place and experience to stay for the weekend! The water has inconsistent temperatures at times, but overall a great atmosphere.

We stayed for two nights just before the new year and thoroughly enjoyed it! Loved the older rustic feel and privacy of the place. Jim and Danny were both super friendly, responsive, and went above normal expectations to make our stay enjoyable. We enjoyed a fire both nights and they provided the wood which is not a common thing for Airbnb's. They alao allow visitors to use their multiple accounts for tv and movies, another very rare thing and really nice not to have to use your own logins! The spa was also very nice. Keep your eyes open for the huge hawk that flies around in the day and the huge owl in the early evening along with tons of other birds including quail. Also nice is the fact that there are multiple places to eat within walking distance…Heroes, Jeremy's On The Hill, etc.

We had a lovely New Year’s Eve stay with our family here! I warmly recommend this space if you are looking for a little getaway from the day to day. The property is beautiful and peaceful, but you are not far from the main road and just a few minutes drive to Julian town center. The house is clean, cozy and snug with a welcoming kitchen and amenities. We also enjoyed the hot tub, especially after a walk in the rain. Overall a great stay for us and Jim was wonderful throughout, helping us to answer a few questions quickly and comprehensively. Don’t think twice, just book!

We had a nice little getaway in the rain on Jim’s property. The place was very clean and had almost everything you could need. The jacuzzi was at a perfect HOT temperature for me.

The perfect pet-friendly place for a long weekend with friends Positive: Finding the place was easy using GPS, and the cabin is absolutely beautiful, well maintained and perfectly appointed with everything you need. The beds are comfortable, the kitchen is fully stocked with dishes/pots/pans, and the views from every window are lovely. The surrounding countryside is quiet and perfect to take the dogs walking in; they never wanted to come inside! 10/10 would come again and highly recommended to others. A perfect place for a long weekend getaway with a few friends. Negative: Some of the surrounding neighbors had large RV trailers that made the view from the front of the property a bit less pleasant, but there’s nothing to be done about that. There were no check-out instructions posted anywhere so I messaged the hosts, they were very responsive and said not to worry about anything so I might just write that somewhere for guests to know. And we needed to check our dogs for foxtails and ticks frequently, but that’s to be expected since they were spending every moment outside!

We had an absolutely perfect stay in Julian with the girls! The place was spotless, well cared for, and incredibly comfortable from the moment we arrived. Jim was a fantastic host (Danny was amazing too)—friendly, responsive, and made everything so easy for us. We loved relaxing in the hot tub, star gazing at night, absolutely adored the tree swing, and had so much fun in the game room. The backyard space was amazing with plenty of room to explore and hike right on the property. It was also super close to town, which was so convenient. On top of that, the place was extremely dog-friendly, which we truly appreciated. We made such great memories here and couldn’t have asked for a better stay. Highly recommend and would 100% stay here again!

Our stay was wonderful. My family and I needed to take a break from the hustle and bustle of LA County, and we'd never been to Julian, so this was a great opportunity. When we arrived, they met us which was great because the ranch is a bit secluded and we didn't really know where to go. It was a beautiful, quiet home and neighborhood, just like the pictures expressed. Actually, the pictures didn't do it justice. The Jacuzzi was awesome!! The only thing that was a little disruptive was the water heater wasnt working well, and sometimes our showers didn't get hot. There were 4 of us. so it probably doesnt get that much use and needs to be replaced. Other than that, we had a wonderful stay and our hosts were excellent!! Very hospitable, concerned and accommodating. Thank you for the bottle of wine!! We would love to stay there again when we decide to return.

The farmhouse on Julian farms and orchard was exactly as advertised. It had all the amenities you could ever want. We had no problem getting checked in and loved the serene surroundings. The hot tub is a must-do. The house was very clean and was just like being at a well-stocked home. We enjoyed the dark skies at night, cooking, walking in the large backyard, and exploring Julian. We also loved visiting the orchard. Our 5-yr old loved picking raspberries and going on the hayride. We highly recommend Jim's place for families with kids.

The property itself was gorgeous and well maintained. The hosts were responsive, communicative and flexible. I enjoyed walking the trails with my dogs and battling my daughter in the game room. It was a wonderful stay and I look forward to visiting again!

We enjoyed the privacy of the location and proximity to town. Being that that you had to enter through a locked gate, made you feel like you didnt even need to lock your car. It felt very safe and private. Kitchen was well supplied with everything you could possibly need. Would definitely come back again.

This cabin was everything we could have hoped for and more. The beds are super clean, warm and comfortable. Every comfort has been thought of and is easily accessible. The surrounding area is gorgeous and our family had a wonderful time walking around the property. The kitchen was fully equipped. 5 stars across the board!

This is our 3rd visit and it was perfect as always.

Jim was very responsive. We had a.small issue with the jacuzzi and called him on a Sunday afternoon. He came right over and had it up. and running in no time.

This property was a wonderful experience! The kitchen was very well stocked with beyond the basic necessities and Jim was very responsive the entire time. Danny was even so kind to stop by and make sure we didn’t have any questions or additional needs. The grounds were fun to hike and explore with our dogs too.

This set up worked well for our family with grandchildren. The outdoor game area in the garage was also fun. And we had Positive: Altho close to the little town, you feel like you’re out in the country. It’s peaceful and pretty. The owners have thought of just about everything a renter could want or need, (except a broom and dust pan ). There are mowed paths to walk on, a relaxing deck and outdoor dining area.

Great place to stay in Julian area! We walked to the local restaurants and stores and explored just in the backyard! The dogs loved walking around the acreage! Great linens and would definitely recommend and come back again in the future!

Jim’s home in Julian is probably the most peaceful, relaxing Airbnb I’ve ever stayed. Jim was extremely helpful and available with any questions I had. Me and my dog decided we needed a break from the world and this was 100% the perfect spot. My dog loved roaming the trails around the property, watching the wild turkeys, deer, etc, and we both loved hanging out on the porch and just staring at the beautiful surroundings. The house had everything we needed, the spa was beautiful, especially at night and being able to look up at the stars, and though I didn’t use it, the game room has lots of games to play! I would love to stay here again in the future and cannot say enough how much I enjoyed my stay.

We loved the Julian house! The home was warm, cozy, and private. The kitchen was stocked with amenities. The game room was fun. And Jim was a communicative, friendly host. Highly recommend this location.

The place was clean with a well-stocked kitchen and comfy beds. We loved that our dogs had plenty of room to play and that we could walk to a nearby restaurant for pizza and burgers. My teenager wants to stay again!

Relaxing impressive atmosphere & location. Would have preferred unscented amenitie. Positive: This location is private, beautiful and centrally located to Julian and Santa Ysabel. Beautiful venue and the home has a well equity kitchen and very nice deck with BBQ and is family gathering friendly with games and is very spacious. Negative: The fragrances of the plug-ins were unnecessary and for such a natural environment were out of touch and too much. Bring spring water and perhaps mattress pads to soften the mattresses. I brought unscented laundry detergent and my own sheets and blankets. Although the home was well stocked with soft sheets and bedding and supplies that were too scented for our preference.

An Absolute Must: Stunning Property with Great Views and Amenities! Positive: The property is absolutely stunning, with ponds, wildflowers, and flowering trees on 27 acres of land to explore!🌲🌳🪻🌷 The house was so clean and well-stocked with essentials such as lint rollers, Kleenex, and trash bags. We loved how dog friendly the owners and property were, the cabinets even had supplies for dogs, including water bowls and doggie bags!🐶 We were concerned about the house not having a fence for our dogs, but the property is so private that your dogs can enjoy themselves safely with supervision. The game room was such a great touch, with basketball, mini bowling, and Connect 4! There is so much to do within a 5 minute drive, including many places for cider, pie, and pizza! This place is an absolute bang for your buck, I highly recommend it and plan on coming back! Negative: The mattresses were on the firmer side, but by no means uncomfortable.

Had a great stay with our three young boys. So grateful for the whole house generator and fireplace to help us stay warm and comfortable. We originally booked because of the power outages and fires we were experiencing back home but after our three days on this beautiful property we’d come back just for a fun weekend!

Set up perfectly for a family getaway! A lot of fun activities close by as well as at the property. Highly recommend!

We will be back! Positive: Clean, roomy perfect location, almost like a home away from home. Kitchen has a full cutlery set, plates, bowls. Wildlife is visible from the windows and the home has amazing sunlight streaming in. Negative: Take note the beds are on the firm side.

Here’s an improved version of your review: We stayed during the LA fires, and despite the power going out twice, we never even noticed thanks to the generator that kicked on seamlessly. Everything in the house worked perfectly, making our stay stress-free. The home itself is incredibly calming, peaceful, and impeccably clean. The co-owner personally greeted us upon arrival, which made us feel very welcome. It was such a wonderful experience that we’re already looking forward to returning!

This is the perfect home base for exploring Julian and the surrounding area! The property is conveniently close to restaurants and local activities, yet it also makes for a peaceful retreat. The beds are incredibly comfortable, and the spacious kitchen is ideal for meals in. Large windows fill the home with natural light and offer beautiful views of the scenic surroundings. During just a couple of days, there were sightings of deer, vultures, and wild turkeys. Quick note for dog owners: while the property is mostly fenced, some sections use barbed wire. My dogs had no trouble passing through to the neighbor’s side but needed a little help finding their way back. Highly recommend this spot for a peaceful getaway!

Jim was an awesome host. He responded quickly to any questions we had. We had such a wonderful time and the house was amazing. Our grandsons loved the game room and all the books in the living room. This is our 2nd time staying. The location is perfect. The accommodations are spotlessly clean, very comfortable, and every detail you can think of has been provided.

Very nice place to stay just to relax. Positive: The location is perfect. The home is on a great piece of land and it is very private. The spa is on the deck and very nice. Negative: The master bedroom mattress needs to be replaced. It would be perfect if there was some fencing for dogs.

What a woderful place. A sense of calm and peacefulness surround the area. Great trees, Blue Jays, hawks, & rabbits. Also, there are multiple places to eat, drink, and explore All withing walking distance from the cabin. Beautiful place, I would love to return.

What a PERFECT place to get away to and bring the dogs with. Lots of land for dogs to run and play. The kitchen was huge and the home had plenty of space. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️We were able to bring our travel cribs for our twins and sleep them in the room with us. Each room has its own AC which was great for keeping only the spaces we were in cool. There is a great spot to eat right next door called Hero’s and we enjoyed Dudley’s bakery down the road. We went to the farm and picked the strawberries and fed some goats🐐, pigs🐷 and chickens🐓! The farm even had a Tap Truck on site so if you’re lucky to hit the farm September-December you could enjoy cider, mixed drinks as well as you guess it, BEER🍻. Highly recommend. We really had the best time. Jim was also very accommodating with allowing us to have a late check out before our drive back to San Diego. We really appreciate how kind all of the hosts were,…Jim, Robin and Danny. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We had a wonderful stay in Wynola. Beautiful piece of property and great home. The kitchen was huge! And we took full advantage of the big patio, bbq and jacuzzi! Very private place but close enough to fun restaurants and cideries. We would definitely stay again and highly recommend 🙂

We absolutely loved this quiet, peaceful cottage! Bird watchers delight – we counted 25 species off the deck while we enjoyed our morning coffee. You may also get lucky enough to see deer walking by in the backyard at sunrise. 3 comfortable beds and one of the most well stocked kitchens we have seen. Very comfortable space for 4 people. These owners care about their guests’ stay and it is appreciated.

Jims place was great for the weekend getaway we were looking to have. My wife and I plus 2 kids and 2 dogs loved the private openness of the property. It was huge!! The place had all of the amenities. It was the little touches like boxes of tissue in every room (we all had the sniffles) and the bottle of Argentinian wine left for us. The kids loved the game room and the giant swing under the huge tree. A++ would stay again.

We enjoyed our stay at the ranch and will be back. I had quick responses from our host Jim whenever I had a question and was very accommodating . We were celebrating birthdays and everyone loved the location and the house. We met Danny upon arrival and such a nice guy and made sure we had everything and a phone call away if we needed anything. The house was clean and the beds comfortable.I usually over pack when I stay at places cause not everything is supplied, just the basics. The Orchard Ranch house is the complete opposite. They had a coffee maker and coffee included as well as creamer in the fridge, I didn’t have to run to the store for my mom. Wild spring flowers greeted us in the kitchen window and that is a nice touch I don’t see, Jim & Robin added that extra touch and it’s above and beyond. They even had extra bowls for our fur babies in the kitchen. The kitchen was well stocked and all the appliances were new and modern. My mother enjoyed amenities in the shower, it has a shampoo, conditioner and body wash dispenser, even though I packed those items, tried it all and enjoyed the scents and product that was supplied. We enjoyed our morning coffees on the deck or out back in the green fields, we even had morning visitors of wild turkeys. We enjoyed the quick walk to Heroes and enjoyed the music and food. Also a hop skip and jump to Julian for some pies. It was peaceful and a great place to re-charge. The game room was a great fun amenity to have on property.

This is a magnificent old Craftsman home in a fantastic location. It has been recently renovated with all the modern amenities. There is a pond on the property full of frogs. It took me back to my childhood. There are shops and great food within walking distance. The farm the property is located on is only open to the public on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Julian is just a few minutes away with apple pies and more tasty food. Jim, the host, was attentive but not bothersome. Overall, it was a great stay, and we will be back.

Jim and Robins home is truly a one of a kind retreat. The home is welcoming and absolutely peaceful as it is tucked away among the trees on the stunning ranch property. The home is clean and the beds are extremely comfortable. Jim is very responsive to any needs or questions and our stay was better than we could have imagined. I have stayed many places in the Julian area and this was the best by a long shot. If 6 stars were possible, this place deserves it. We will certainly be coming back!

We cannot say enough good things about our stay in Jim's Wynola home. It was everything we hoped for and more. The location was perfect for our trip to the pumpkin patch. We were able to walk everywhere. (*Side note, nearby restaurants close pretty early, so be sure and get there by 8 or take food to make at the house.) The home was very cozy and clean. We loved sitting on the deck enjoying the scenery and the playroom was such an added bonus. Both the kids and adults loved it. Jim went above and beyond to be a welcoming host and we cannot wait to come back.

Julian ranch was a welcome oasis from busy suburban life. Our family enjoyed exploring the country and being together in a beautiful ranch house that had plenty of options for entertainment. We played in the game room and enjoyed a relaxing dip in the jacuzzi. We also spent a day at the Julian Farm and Orchard climbing a rock wall, ax throwing and picking pumpkins. It was such a great family getaway! 5 stars all around!!!

What a cute, quiet, sooooo cozy place. BEDS were really comfortable, kitchen so clean and a welcoming bottle of wine! YES! Jim was very flexible with checking in and checking out and Danny was awesome at greeting me and showing me around at check in. Walking distance to pies, and really good restaurants and only 3 miles to town for more! Best part, my dogs had s blast having free roam of smells and guided walks. Cooked some steaks pan the BBQ outside and my husband enjoyed the jets in the jacuzzi. Thank you Jim and friends for a very relaxed and good night sleep trip. Till next time…. MERCI! Everything we expected and more! Jim was an amazing host and quickly available to answer questions. Danny was also responsive. We needed fire wood and he showed up in 10 minutes. Enjoyed the petting zoo, pumpkin patch, and the rock climbing wall!! We needed a respite weekend and we couldn’t be happier

The property is so beautiful We all loved it. We were able to see the meteor shower and relax in the jacuzzi at night. Jim is so friendly and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. We would definitely visit again!

I have stayed in many places but this one is MAGICAL. It has a certain "je ne sais quoi" to it. You feel at home the moment you enter the house and boy what a wondaful cozy place. I almost don't want to rave about it more because In want it all to myself. Absolutely beautiful and soooo clean. And the grounds! My daughter said it looked like a unicorn was going to appear and then suddenly a deer appears!. The game room was the best for both young and old. Even our 2 dachshunds had a blast running around free and happy. So much space! And so very well located. We went to all the restaurants and shops around, all were walking distance, and they were great and the people so kind! We loved every bit of our stay and will return! A true home away from home. Thank you Jim and company! Memories made!

We were looking for somewhere remote to spend the days around 4th of July with our dogs away from the fireworks. Jim’s place was perfect, very quiet and remote, but still close to a small town in case you need anything. The game room and the endless selection of movies kept our family entertained. The kitchen was furnished with everything you need. Jim was very kind, welcoming, and amenable to receive feedback to improve the place. To top it off, we appreciated that Jim didn’t tack on additional fees to have our fur babies, that’s honest business that I can get behind. It very well became a place we’ll come back annually!

Had a wonderful stay here- the property is quiet and relaxing while still being very close to lots of fun activities. Everything in the house was good quality from the linens to the wifi. The kitchen was fully stocked and nice to use. The dining table expanded to easily fit our party of six. There is a pocket door between the kitchen/dining area and the living room/bedrooms, which really helped with noise control in the morning! We spent a lot of time on the patio, trying to identify bird calls and enjoying the atmosphere. Getting to visit Julian Farm and Orchard was a really nice perk, and my family is already talking about coming back to enjoy the different seasonal activities. Jim and Robin were so welcoming and helpful- they really want above and beyond as hosts! There is a cool game room, and Robin told us about their plans to expand it. We can’t wait to see the updates on our next visit.

This was such a cool and unique airbnb! Jim, Robin and Danny all greeted us upon our arrival with a lovely bottle of wine and gave us a tour around the house and property, which was very much appreciated. The house is historical, and it is just beautiful and the property is huge! The rooms are all very comfortable, and spacious, the linens and beds were extremely comfy too! The kitchen has everything you could need, and everything is brand new. Not to mention, there is an amazing game room in the detached space across from the house with basketball hoops, darts, shuffle board, foosball, and more. The patio is amazing too, with a huge jacuzzi! Jim and Robin were so accommodating, they let us check in early, and out late, and we truly loved how friendly and welcoming they were to us. We will definitely be back soon!!

Wow. This has been our favorite Airbnb to date, and we’ve stayed in various nice, special places before. First of all, Jim was an incredible host. He and Gina, the property manager, were beyond accommodating and kind—very professional. We had some concerns about the hot tub and they didn’t hesitate to help us out; within the hour Jim himself was onsite, checking things out and giving us a clear explanation. Every amenity offered and every piece of furniture was chosen and prepared thoughtfully—and trust me when I say that the difference is felt! Everything was so convenient, from where to plug in our chargers to where the post-jacuzzi towels were stored. The town of Julian has left us wanting more, and Jim’s property has made us giddy to come back a second time. From the exhilarating moment we watched a herd of deer cross the back of the property while having coffee on our first morning there, to the last full day, spent bird-watching, our stay was full of treasured memories.

Everything about this home was well thought out and perfect. We had a wonderful stay and are looking forward to staying there again!
